Younger people in at risk groups invited for vaccination

Following the initial vaccination delivery to the most at-risk groups, young people categorised as being 'clinically extremely vulnerable' are now being invited to make their appointments.

Vaccination services are contacting people under 65 with a range of health conditions to offer them their first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine.

One such person is Hope Stevens, 22, from Farnham, who visited the vaccination centre in Farnham Hospital on Friday. Hope was invited as she has Crohn's disease, a lifelong condition characterised by inflammation of the digestive system.

Hope's appointment was recorded by a team from BBC News, who are compiling a report on younger people being vaccinated because of their serious health conditions.

The report was broadcast on the BBC Six O'Clock News. You can view it here.
